EDITIO PRINCEPS, finely printed with the first Roman text type,
used in Germany. The books printed in this curious type have been attributed
to several different presses, but it is since a few years definitely recognised that
they are the work of Adolf Rusch, who was the son-in-law of Joh. Mentelin, die
first printer of Strassburg.
Very fine specimen of very early art of printing. Excee-
dingly fine copy, with very large margins (23/, inches and more)
in the original binding. Some marginal notes of an old hand, a few IL are
insignificantly stained.
Only one copy in U. S. A. acc. to Census.

EDITIO PRINCEPS. Hain 14837 describes an edition of 1492. Very inte-
resting untill now unknown specimen of this rare press at Modena, with full
colophon. It is a treatise on forensic exceptions and protests &c.
The book is printed with Rocociola’s types 1 and 4. The latter contains
M98 (Haebler, Typenrepertorium does not give an indication of the type 4).
Very fine large copy of this Unicum. A few old MS. marginal notes.
