Latin verse.
This collection has been then greatly admired and has been translated into French, Italian
Spanish etc.
This first edition is the rarest one of all and contains the curious cuts attributed
by Glehlow & Rbttinger to J6rg Breu the Elder (Repertorium XXXI, p. 55, no. 15) for the first
time. On 1. D, a cut showing Bacchus, drinking wine, on the left a grape-vine.
The very handsomely drewn title border is the work of the „Petrarca Master” (ot
Hans Welditz), cf. Musper p. 29, L 123. It represents several animals, on the lower part an ow
and on the right side ar great bird, perhaps a pelican.
