A magnificently printed rare book from the famous Schoeffer
press at Mainz. The first words of each psalm are printed with the church
type 1, used in the Psalters, heavy initials are used for the first words of
each verse, and the text is printed with the nice, larger text type 5 of Schoeffer.
The clumsy versal letters (to the first word of each verse) are used by Schoeffer
only in this book.
The nice printer’s device and the 5 line-colophon is printed in red.
Very fine specimen of Schoeffers press, in the best condi-
tion, with very large margins (2V2 inches and more) and bound
in the original binding. The first leaves are insignificantly stained in
margins by use.
