184 Missale Romanum ex decreto ss. Concilii Tridentini restitutum. Ro-
mae 1714« Fol. With frontispiece, title vignette, some full page
engraved plates, representing the Crucifixion, the Ascension &c.
and numerous figurated engraved initials. Finely bound in full red
morocco, full gilt back, the sides elaborately decorated, two nice
borders composed of foliage and different animals, the inner panel
adorned with the large arms of a Cardinal and large corner pieces
of foliage „azure“, g. e. Frs. 600.-
Nice Italian armorial binding with rich, gilt decoration. The binding is
executed about 1720.
The state of preservation of this fine binding is the best one. Hie gilt
decoration is very fresh and the bads is quite intact. On the under side are
three insignificant scratches.

185 Napoleon I. — Relation de la bataille de Marengo, gagnee
le 25 prairial an 8, par Napoleon Bonaparte, premier consul, com-
mandant, en personne Farmee franchise de reserve, sur les Austri-
diiens. Redigee par le general A. Berthier. Paris 1806. 4to» With
engraved title, 1 engraved map, 4 plans of battle and 1 view of
the battle of Marengo. Full green morocco, back richly gilt with em-
blematic designs, Napoleon's eagle, a laurel, the insignia of royalty etc.,
in centre of both sides Napoleon’s Arms gilt tooled, the sides are sur-
rounded by an elaborate laurel border, narrow inside dent., g. e.
Frs. 5oo.—
Fine copy, bound for Napoleon I. The Relation is illustrated by an
engraved map of Upper-Italy showing the formations of the troops and its
routes, furtheron by four plates of the battle of Marengo showing the different
formations of troops during the battle. All these plates are partly coloured by
hand. The last and 6th plate is a view of the battle-field of Marengo.
