According to Dommer this is the second issue of the interesting „Great Sermon" of usury.
In 1519 Luther wrote at first only a short treatise on this subject. Kostlin-Kawerau I, 279 says:
„Luther gab 1519 einen sogenannten Sermon vom Wucher heraus, dem gegen Ende des Jahres
eine noch ausfiihrlichere Bearbeitung folgte. Gerade er nahm hier einen sehr strengen Standpunkt
ein. Zum mindesten forderte er, dass der Ausleihende hinsichtlich des Ertrages seines Geldes all
den Gefahren mit unterworfen sein miisse, welche Uber den Schuldner beim Gebrauch des Geldes
... kommen . . . Hier haben wir . . . jedenfalls den regen sittlichen Eifer zu beachten, der ihn
auch schon auf dieses praktische Gebiet zog .. .“
One of the most interesting writings of Luther. Good copy, in 1. A8 a rent,
insignificantly stained by use.

The cut on the last page, a copy of DUrer’s famous title page to his Small Passion, has
