Zibrt II, 1615. Dudik p. 46e. Deschamps 1053. Apponyi 524.
The very rare first edition of this important Bohemian chronicle prin-
ted in Prossnitz, little town in Moravia near Brunn.
Dudik says that this edition is extraordinarily rare, for its having been
printed only in few copies, which were dedicated by the author to his friends.
This compendious chronicle is a most considerable source for the his-
tory of Cechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland and Southern Slavonia. Its importance
is sufficiently known.
Johann Gunther started in printing at Prossnitz about 1545.
During his stay there till 1553 his output is rather small mostly comprising
small quartos. Dudik mentions only 6 of his productions, between these ours
certainly ranks among his best and largest ones.
Fine copy with wide margins, some old MS.-notes and stamps.
See Reproduction, Plate X.
