XII. cent., frequently translated and reprinted in the later Middle Ages. The fine woodcut on title,
representing the Infant Christ on a cushion and the four Evangelists in medallions, is the work of
Wolf Traut. (See Dodgson I, p. 506, 6.) This cut, used almost as a device, appears here for the
first time.
