(51) Treatment for a woman pained in all her

limbs and the sockets of [her] eyes ............

Prescription No. XVII.

Treatment for a woman [whose] blood ...............

her [mouth ?] and the end of her hand (wrist
or extremity ?).

[Thou shall say] as to it........................

Thou shalt do for it (thus) : (56) clear the floor for
her, place upon it the lees of sweet beer
[covering it so as ?] not (to allow ?) anything
to fall on to it, (57) thou shalt lay henau
mesesh upon the top side of these lees [and

sit upon it; (58) if nothing enters it, thou

shalt cause to be cooked...........................

We find that the regular formulae are
dropped in this page. As has been already
pointed out, the last two pages together con-
tained seventeen prescriptions, all on one plan :
it cannot be an accident that in the third page
there are exactly the same number, of a
different character and probably taken from a
different source.

Prescription No. XVIII.

(1) Another (sic). Adnudandam (?) mulierem a viro

ejus ? ? Half of a badt (?) of milk (?) .........

of a badt (?) .................. (2) contunde (?),

consperge in vulvam ejus.

is almost certain, but seems out of

place here.

Prescription No. XIX.

Discernere earn quae jyarfet, in utero mulicris
gravidae (?). Si revenerit mensis mensis,

Be (muliere) afflicta remediis adefficiendum conceptum:

inside a sheda (of wood) in the flame; thou
