IN the dales of King Ja\ 2. one Alexander Cu-
nigham, second Son as is fupposed of Lord Robert, went
over to France, Commander of the Scots Auxiliaries,
and was very Renowned forhis -valour there, of whom
is lineally descended that Noble Family of the De
Congee in France, which hath yeilded Personsto the
moil: eminent Offices in that Kingdom. The present
Marquessie Charles having severall trusts of his xMajesty
of France. And to tesiify as their deseent: so their
Respeft to the Family os Glencaime , especially to this
Earl that now is, so Renowned at home and abroad.
In anno 1658, The Marqueis came over from France
10 Scotland, to viiite his Chief, then detained in prison
by the Llsurpers in Edinburgh Caltle. And for verify**
ing his Deseent, brought with him a Letter wrote by
King Ja: 2. to Charles the 7;of France5 in favour
of the said Alexander, Wherein his Majesty of Scot"
