very Coat fixed thereunto* with this Inscriprion about
the same (viz.') Sigillum R^berti de Ajhfield ; as also
another Deed hearing Date, ^wo 3. Henry the sixth,
made from Robert the son oijohn Ajhsield of Stow Lang-»
ton Esquire, to Simon Fincham, and Jr.hn VVhixloc^e^
with afairKeal os red wax : whereupon was a Grisson
5ejant,with his wings displaid,over whose body is this
Arms, with this Inscription about the whole Seale,
(viz.) S. Koberti de AJhsield Armig. The above named
Robert Ajhsield builded the Church of Stow Langxon^
in the Quire whereof ( which I haveseen) he lyeth
buried under a fair Marble 5 he was servant unto the
black Prince,whom he followed in his Warsin France.
This Coat is thus born by £ir John Ajhsield Knight,
soie Heir of that Family, now Gentleman of the Bed-
Chamber to Prince Charles.
He beareth quarterly

Crow: the second partie

and Gules, a bend Vaire distinguifhed with a Ciessant
Sable for difference, by the name of Sack^ill. And
sor his Crest on a wreath of his colours a Cock Argent,
beaked,combed, and membred Or.
This antient name and Family of Crowjwas antiently
of Sussolk^ 5 for about the time of King Edward the 4.
