NORWICH.—At the autumn exhibition
of the Woodpecker Art Club, Nor-
wich, the most striking works were (
Carrow Abbey, by the President, Miss
C. M. Nichols, R.E., of which the whole effect
was charming in the extreme; a fine picture,
fieati Immaculati, by the Vice-President, Miller
Smith, R.B.A.; and Edward Elliot's Wreck off
Cortoti, wonderfully good in the depiction of rain,
sea, and sky. Other pictures worthy of note were
A. J. Munning's Fair, H. Robinson's Lincoln,
H. F. Hitchcock's Chancellor Lias, Rosa Howlett's
Etaples Peasant Girl; Midst the Grey Drift,
by Tatton Winter, R.B.A. ; a miniature of Miss

Haysel, Montague Crick's River Scene, Mrs. Charles
