Layer 2 is a culture layer and one may there-
fore assume that these stone faced terraces
were erected rather late in the history of the

settlement, perhaps because the simple earth
terraces further down the slope did not yield
enough. Excavations in 1982 in one of the
circular stone houses did not give evidence
of Inca occupation. However, it is without
