Pulleys and Cranes of all sorts.
She also with her ingenious hand, rears all curious
Roofs and Arches,stately Theaters,the Columns sira-
ple and compounded, pendant Galleries, stately Win-
dows,Turrets5&c,and first brought to light our Clocks
and curious Watches, (unknown unto the Antients) :
Lastly, our kitchin Jacks, even the wheel-barrow.Be-
side, whatsoever hath artificial motion either by Ayr,
Water,Wind,sinews or Ghords,as all manner of Mufi-
cal instruments, Water-works,and the like.
Yea, morever such is the infinite subtilty, and im-
mense depth of this admirableArt,that it dares contend
even with natures self,ininfusing lise as it were into the
senselesse bodies of wood,stone,or mettal: witness the
wooden dov e of Archytaiyso famoused not only by Agel- Agellius 1. 10.
