WAX FIGURES

of Mrs. Stabler, which we reproduce, were
among the chief items of interest in the
recent exhibition of the Women's Inter-
national Art Club at the Grafton Galleries,
where they were much admired, 0 0

We also give here reproductions of three
works in the present Royal Academy ex-
hibition—Mr. Arnesby Brown's Distant
Marshes, Mr. George Harcourt’s Late
News, and Miss Elsie Chard's Meditation—
which we were unable to include among
the illustrations we published with our
article on the exhibition last month. Mr.
Derwent Wood's beautiful bronze statue

Psyche, which we reproduced then, has
been purchased under the terms of the
Chantrey Bequest, and other works simi-
larly purchased from the exhibition are
Mr. Arnesby Brown's The Line of the
Plough, Mr. F. Elwell's The Beverley Arms
Kitchen, and Mr. W. Reid Dick’s bronze
mask Androdus. 0000
Owing to the galleries of the Royal
Society of British Artists in Suffolk Street
being still in the occupation of the Govern-
ment, the Society has had again to find
accommodation elsewhere for its exhibi-
