LINOLEUM CUTS BY PUPILS OF
THE MACCLESFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
designs made and cut by the pupils of
Macclesfield High School. In each case
the design has been composed by the
pupil directly on to linoleum by means of
a brush drawing, either done in the studio
or in the garden. The children have been
encouraged to make patterns in this way,
rather than attempt to draw in an imitative
manner. Some of the cuts were made
for head and tail pieces to a rhyme sheet;
