It represents a different setting up of the copies described by Hain-Copinger,
as ours contains 38 (instead of 39) lines to a full page. The text seems to be com-
pressed by using many abbreviations.
This book, published here under S. Bonaventura’s name, is really by Nicolas
of Hannapes.
Large clean copy from the „Conuentus S. Josephi Oeniponti", only a small stain
on the white margin, two small wormholes in the first two leaves.
Only one copy in U. S. A. (acc. to Census).

ding one leaf blank, without catchwords. MS.-foliation in top right-
hand corner and MS. guide letters. At beginning a remarkable initial,
painted in blue, surrounded by red pen ornaments and numerous other
capitals in the text. Vellum. Frs. 500.-

The last product of the press of Paul of Butzbach, who has printed only
18 books at Mantua, (s. Haebler, Deutsche Buchdr. d. 15- Jh. im Auslande, p. 71.)
— On fol. 1 b a letter from Brother Ludovicus a Turri of Verona to Franciscos Rai-
mondus, vicar of the Province of St. Antonio, in which he praises Nicolaus de Lyra
setting him in the same rank with Alexander de Ales, Bonaventura, Johannes Scotus
and other great theologians, and stating, that he corrected the errors of other writers
on the Moralia and added the tabula. — Pollard, Hawkins Cat. p. 187 says of this
printer: Paulus Johannis of Butzbadi in the diocese of Mainz may naturally be iden-
tified with the „Magister Paulus" who with his brother Teuton „Magister Georgius"
and the aid of Columbinus of Verona produced the Mantua Dante of 1472, and perhaps
some other books usually attributed to Pietro de Micheli. When he began working by
himself he used different types and, avoiding classics, published chiefly legal and
theological books, all in Latin ... —
On first page (blank) the MS note: „A1 padre Vicario fra kuptyla", in the text some
MS marginal notes, on leaf 258 b (blank) an old MS alphabetical register of chapters.
The copy is browned and waterstained throughout and the end damaged by
worms on the inner margins. The first leaf repaired on inner margin without loos of text.
