Westminster, its Antiquities and Monuments. 2 vols. London 1812.
Fol. With 1 portrait, 1 mapand 80 plates, finely co-
loured by hand. Contemporary straight-grained violet mo-
rocco, back richly gilt, the sides surrounded by an ornamental
gilt border, in the centre a fine large tool of Gothic design, large
inside dentelle on a leather border, doublure and fly-leaves of
green watered silk, also decorated with dent, and tools in the cor-
ners, gilt edges. (Bound by C. Hering). 900.—
Exceptionally fine copy of this interesting work, describing the
antiquities of Westminster Abbey. The colour-plates represent exterior and
interior views, sepulchral monuments, sculptures, etc.
This is the copy of Maria Feodorowna, Empress of Russia (1759—1828),
wife of Paul I. At the beginning of Vol. I there is inserted an extra-leaf which
bears in the finest calligraphical execution the following dedication:
To Her Imperial Majesty Maria Feodorowna, this work most humbly
presented by R. Ackermann. May 2, 1814. — T. Tomkins scripsit.

minster. London 1816. Fol. With 48 plates carefully co ¬
loured by hand. Contemporary blue morocco binding; both
sides are surrounded by nice gilt & blind-tooled borders, in the
corners there are blind-ornamented circles and the centres are
decorated by very fine gilt tools alaCathedraleof different
design, back finely gilt, large inside dentelle on the doublures of
blank watered silk, gilt edges (signed Segelken). 1250.—
A beautiful publication with most interesting descriptions
and views of the English High Schols, g. e. Winchester, Eton,
Westminster, The Charter House, St. Paul's, Merchant Taylor's, Harrow, Rug-
by, Christ's Hospital. Some plates represent academic dresses.
A most desirable copy preserved in a luxurious morocco binding a la
Cathedrale.
