1819. Fol. Illustrated with 100 fine engravings in
two states, coloured by hand and in black. Green
straight grained morocco, very elegantly gilt, tassels of green
and red silk, gilt edges. In the centre of both sides the large
gilt letter M rvith crown: the monogram of Maria Feodoronma,
Empress of Russia. 3500.—
Magnificent work on the Royal Castles of Windsor, Saint James Palace,
Carlton House, Kensington Palace, Hampton Court, Buckingham House and
Frogmore.
This is the copy of Maria Feodorowna, Empress of Russia (1759—1828),
wife of Paul I. The beautiful plates are in 2 states, one finely coloured, the
other on China, several of which are painted a la gouache.
Most sumptuous copy, magnificently bound, of Imperial provenience,
probably the finest copy which was ever offered for sale.

First Edition of the important works of the famous S. Anselm, O. S. B., the great phi-
losopher and theologian, Archbishop of Canterbury, 1033—1109.
First Imprint of Caspar Hochfeder. — The copy is a very large one having rough ed-
ges. Some leaves are slightly stained and wormed, towards the end the copy has suffered a litt-
le on the upper part from damp and water.
