A very rare book printed by the first press at Isny (Wiirttemberg), founded by the
scholar P. Fagius, who ,.printed with his left hand that which he wrote with his right", see
Deschamps, p. 666.
Finely printed in Hebrew throughout, except the title-page and 6 pages of preface which
are in Roman. Dedicatory epistle by Wolfgang C a p i t o. For the fine mark see Schwab, Inc.
Orient., p. 133.
In 1612, according to an inscription, this book was a gift from the famous bibliophile
J. A. de Thou, probably to Colbert, whose name is on the title-page.
Very fine, large copy.

Collation: 1 to 6, 2—10 to 8, 11 to 10, 12—30 to 8, 31 to 10 leaves. Not in the bibliogra-
phy of this press in Jewish Encycl. III. 299 — Title and first 11 damaged by damp, wormed and
stained (text not being affected), but a complete copy. Daniel Bomberg was a Christian printer
and publisher of Hebrew works, born at Antwerp, and died at Venice in 1549, where, from 1517
to 1549, he published many editions of Hebrew works. — Exceedingly rare.
