Tomasz Wichman
a bronze medallion of Galien and Salonine (255-259) at Nowa Słupia, and
a denarius of Caracalla (202) in a hoard at Nietulisko Małe. This chrono-
logical structure of coin finds is also characteristic for other comparable
sites in Małopolska region23.
A rapid growth of settlement in the area between the Kamienna and
the Świętokrzyskie Mts. during the advanced stages B2 and Cl of the
Roman Period, implies a special role of that region in the economic life
of the population that inhabited the territory of the present-day south-
eastern Poland.
