DICTAEAN CAVE (PSYKHRO)

14. Scarab. Amethyst. A rayed sun between two beaked

vases. Circles in the field. Probably engraved by
a Minoan artist. Found in cave long before the
excavations. No context.

15. Bronze Statuette. Amen-Ra, with double plume. 10 cms. high. Good New

Empire work. Dedicated about 900 B.C. Found in mud at
bottom of lower grotto. (Frontispiece.)

Context: rude bronze figures, rings, pins, double axes,
gems with animals engraved, e.g. heraldic goats, lions, etc.
