IX. MARATHOKEPHALON
A small village lying about seven miles north-east of Phaestos, where Xanthoudides
in 1918 discovered the remains of a tholos tomb of the Early Minoan Period. The
tholos seems to have been used throughout the period.
Like Agia Triada, Platanos, Koumasa, etc., it belongs to the era which follows the
assumed North Egyptian immigration at the end of the Predynastic Age.
