*zg. Diorite Statue of User. Found to the north-west of the central court. Lower half only

of man seated on throne clad in a short kilt of which outline
may be seen above knees. Dated by Evers, Staat aus dem
Stein, ii. p. 96, to Amenemhat I. Dr Hall however reads the
name as " Ab-nub-mes-wazet-user" and therefore dates it
to the early Xlllth Dynasty. Height 12-5 cms.

Inscriptions run:

Back: Devoted to the Great God, Lord of Heaven, Heart
of Gold whom the Wazet Nome produced, User, the justified
[i.e. deceased].

Sides: The Devoted Heart of Gold whom the Wazet Nome
produced, User, the justified, born of the devoted Sat-Hathor,
the justified. (Plate II.)

Context: M.M. II b pottery.

30. Lid of Alabastron. Found near the north-west lustral basin in M.M. Ilia de-

posit. Inscribed with the name of the Hyksos King Khyan,
18th century b.c. (?), "The good god, Se-User-en-Ra. Son
of the Sun Khyan". (Plate II.)
