The Sadisenspiegel, the most excellent code of greatest importance
in the middle age is the first collection of German law written by Eike
von Repkow. He translated his latin manuscript in the low German dialect on re-
quest of Count Hoyer von Falkenstein about 1230. Its commentary was composed by
Johann von Buch in 1325 who also joined his „Riditsteig” (i. e. guide) to the
„Landredit”. Dietrich von Bocksdorff, bishop of Naumburg, who translated the
whole work in High German, died in 1466.
Our edition contains also two German didactic poems by Hermann
von Oesfelde, a lawyer of the middle of the 14th century, entitled „Cautela” and
„Premis”. At the end the latin text of the Sadisenspiegel is found.
Exceedingly fine and large copy in its beautiful original binding.

Garaldus. These partners have worked in four succeeding groups, the first is formed
