the first and last, being blank, missing. Old wooden boards, the back and
a part of the boards covered with finely blindstamped pigskin {Contempo-

The very rare first edition of this important philological work on the
difficult passages in Juvenal.
With full colophon, from the extremely scarce press of Sadisel & Golsdi
at Rome. “Only eight books in all are registered as the work of Sach-
sel & Golsch, three of them signed and dated . . . Large text type, of irre-
gular appearance, especially when capitals are massed . . . The lower case is for the
most part Sweynheym and Panartz’s type.” (Brit. Mus. Cat.)
Quite clean copy with wide margins, there is only a small wormhole in the
margins of the first few leaves and some few old ms. notes.
Bound up with: Homer us. Odyssea, latine a Car. Tortellios, ed. Geor-
gius Maxillus alias Ubelin. Strafiburg, Schott, 1510. Fol.
Extraordinarily rare, no copy having been bn market since more than ten
years except a British Museum duplicate.
