• W dniu 11 września 2004 r. w siedzibie
Instytutu Historii Sztuki odbyła się sesja pt.
„The City in Art", którą współorganizował
Instytut Sztuki PAN w Warszawie.

• W dniach 21-22 października 2004 roku
Instytut Historii Sztuki współorganizował
wraz z Oddziałem Krakowskim Stowarzy-
szenia Historyków Sztuki oraz Polską Aka-
demią Umiejętności międzynarodową konfe-
rencję „Stulecie Stowarzyszenia Litewskiego
«Ruta» w Krakowie" (zob. szersze omówie-
nie w niniejszym tomie). Konferencji towa-
rzyszyła wystawa fotografii prof. Andriusa
Surgailisa (Wileńska Akademia Sztuki) pt.
Wilno z dachu 1972-1986. Fotografie, zor-
ganizowana w Galerii Akademii Sztuk Pięk-
nych „Pod Schodami" (pl. Matejki 13). Po-
mysł konferencji oraz jego realizacja, a także
organizacja wystawy fotografii i opracowa-
nie jej katalogu są zasługą mgr Anny Bara-
nowej.
