suggested the possibilities of a wider scope for
the trade designer and workman from the stand-
point of beauty and effect, rather than from that
of intrinsic value only.

Altogether, the exhibition showed very well the
many-sided character of the artist, who has now to
face the difficult task of impressing his theories
and thoroughness upon the students sent to him.
