French philologist
gravely commented on
these precious lines,
and in all seriousness
translated them into
academic French.
Charles Jacque was
born in Paris in 1813.
At the age of thirteen
he was set to work
with an engraver of
maps; and although
he remained at that
employment for some
seven years, we may
feel sure he chafed at
paysage—personnages" (1846) from the etching by charles jacque the arbitrary lines im-
posed upon him by the
boundaries of States.

Alem molo biesi employ, he found the means of etching the head

Effolen faume His love for Rembrandt lasted through life, and
Saibbane paran. he etched several more of his works. Others of the
