And I could not but take notice how these Eastern Parts of Europe
abounded with Christians of the Greek Church beyond my expectati¬
on, and since they are thus to be found in many large Countries. In
Gracia, and the Greek Islands, in the Turki[h Parts of Dalmatia, and
Croatia, in Rascia, Bofnia, Servia, Thracia, Sagora, Bulgaria, Sirsia,
Beffaralia, Cojjackia, Podolia, Moldavia and Wallachia, and the vast
Dominions of the Emperor os RuJJia, they must needs make a notable
part of Christendom, and put me more sensibly in mind of an Expres-
sion of a learned Writer. Is we Jhould collett and put together all ^Brerewood
Christian Regions in Europe, which are os the Greek and enquiries,
compare them with the Parts prosejfing the Roman Religion in Europe, we
fhould find the Greek sar to exceed.
In the Western Parts of Europe, in many Churches the Fonts are
{lately, raised high from the Ground, and to be ascended unto by di-
vers Steps; sometimes covered with large Canopies, or with high Pa-
vilions handsomly carved and adorned. But in the Greek Churches
