Gerard Zerbolt, One of the Foremost of the Brothers of Com-
mon Life, born at Zutphen in 1362, died at Windsheim in 1398.

calf over wooden boards two catches for clasps back broken. Frs. 2400.—

The only German edition and a nice and rare 8VO imprint of Zainer.
The work represents a mystic system of the Christian moral.
Our copy has been bound up with:
Regula S. Benedicti, in German. A very legible manuscript of the 15th cen-
tury, written in black and red on paper. 107 leaves, 8VO, of which the first and last
are blank. This ms. contains on 1. 68 sequ. „Von maefi der spyse” and „Van der maefie
des dranckes”. A small hole in leaves 49—5°-
A clean copy with full margins in its old binding.
No copy in U. S. A. (acc. to Census). No copy has been on market since
more than ten years.

Johannes GERSON
Jean Charlier of Gerson, the great Theologian and Philosopher,
Chancellor of the University of Paris, born at Gerson in 1363,
died at Lyons in 1429.

Fine copy.
A fine specimen of the first Cologne press. Ulrich Zell, the printer of this
work, introduced printing into Cologne in or before 1466. He calls himself in many
imprints ’’clericus diocesis Moguntinensis“, he learnt to print probably from Fust
and Schoeffer.
