Weyer sale catalogue nr 41 as Grunewald, stated to have been a pupil of Diirer. Niels von
Holst (Die deutsche Bildnismalerei zur Zeit des Manierismus, Strassburg, 1930) ascribed
this portrait to the Eastern German School, but Starzyński and Walicki (nr 255) found
more similarities to the Frankfort School. A precise attribution should yet be found.
The picture is at the N. M.inW. It was cxhibited 1961 at the exhibition of German paintings
(Fig. 11).

Weyer sale catalogue nr 71 as Hans Schaufelein. The picture formed a central panel of
the one of eight smali altarpieces executed by the anonymous master for the Suabian
church at Messkirch. See Starzyński and Walicki, nr 276; Białostocki and Walicki, nr 103.
Exhibited in the N. M. in W. (Fig. 12).

Weyer sale catalogue nr 77 as Hans Holbein the younger. At the back of the picture there
is an inscription: ANNO DMI. M. D. XXXII ETATIS VERO XXXIII. Attribution to
Brosamer has been published by Starzyński and Walicki, nr 248. The picture
has been lost (Fig. 13).
