Griffith a compris qu'il s'agissait d'un rêve spontané, et
il a complété le texte en conséquence. Notre conte fournit,
en effet, dans les lignes qui suivent, un exemple certain de
rêve de ce genre. Lorsque Mahîtouoskhît a conçu, Satmi,
son mari, est réjoui par un songe qui lui annonce la gran-
deur future de son enfant. « Il se coucha une nuit [et il rêva
» un rêve; on lui parlait], disant : « Mahîtouoskhît, ta
» femme, qui a conçu [de toi], le petit enfant dont elle ac-
» couchera on l'appellera Sénosiris, et ils seront nombreux,
» les miracles qu'il accomplira dans la terre d'Egypte". »
Toutefois, nous rencontrons plus loin un rêve provoqué
