Below, on the left, stands a man, before whom there are four vertical lines of

hieroglyphs, reading from right to left : ) ( i?)^t> [ ( ^)

Under the vertical lines of inscription two women stand each bearing over lier
head two horizontal lines of hieroglyphs. reading from left to right : I.

The first formula présents no particular interest; the second in the vertical lines is
very difficult to decipher : it seems to be the ordinary invocation to those who pass by
the tomb of the deceased.

The title " priest of Shotp-îb-Ri " is only found here, I believe : a sub-director
of thepriestsof thepyramid Qa-nofir of Amenemhaît I4 Çï\ ° ^ ^ /\^\ ffrj ^ f

is found in the 9th year of Usirtasen I. The names of the personnages mentioned in our
stela are ail curious.

III. In the inscription of Uni, in the fîfteenth line, | Jj^q£!=q is generally3 read,
and interpreted as a mistake for |'^N^c^£]; I have examined with care a squeeze

of Devéria, and read clearly A\\ D^£); the beak of the bird is visible, but not very
clear, and the square head must have given rise to the mistake : the tail however re-
