T)Esides al! this, there rauft be Garlands laid upon the
grave too , as there were before upon the herfe and the
corps.- And this action they called &z*v'iv 7tv^0ov , and the
Garlands them(elves epsn-aj and that more properly then any
of the sormer, as being not only h°3.vnv-kv>*;, made of a Col'
lation , or a colkUion of all sorts of slowers gathered together,
but also made to be throwne bm r "Ee$v, upon the Earth!
Sometimes indeed they made thofe Garlands of nothing

ry of Timoleon,who when he was to fight with the Carthagini-

The Souldieri being affrighted therewith , becaufe os the ufe
which they knew to be made of that hearb in suneralls
( whence the proverb os one that is defperatly fid; m\'mt
that he needs Apittm ) refus'd to fight: but he told them, Najt
