SUPPLEMENTS OF "THE INTERNATIONAL STUDIO"

Modern British Domestic Architecture and Decoration.
Edited by CHARLES HoLME. Bound in Paper. $2.00 net.
EXTRACT FROM THE PRE-FACE: One of the features which characterize the
opening of the twentieth century is the renewai of generai interest in architecture and
decoration, more especiaiiy in their reiation to the construction and ornamentation of the
home. That the new century should generate a styie characteristicaiiy its own, borrowing
from the past oniy those features that are strictiy in accordance with present-day needs, is
the desire of aii true artists. Some progress in the right direction has aiready been made,
and it is not oniy interesting now to observe the present-day phases of architecture and dec-
oration, but it witi be of vaiue in time to come to iook back upon what are probabiy but the
initiai stages of a iarge and important movement.
