The remarkable successwhich has attended the issueof"ENGLtsH WATER-C0L0UR," and
numerous requests that a voiume shouid be devoted exciusivety to the varied phases of the Art of
To-day, have induced the Editor to put into preparation a New Work entitled—
REPRESENTATIVE ART
OF OUR TIME
This voiume wiii contain original Etchings, Drypoints, Lithographs, Xyiographs, and Reproductions
of Pasteis, Water-Coiours and other forms of Art Work, representing aii that is best in the Modern
Graphic Arts. Many of the iiiustrations are being prepared especiaily for this pubiication. It wiii
be issued in eight monthiy parts, and the hrst number wili appear in December next.
Aithough the dimensions ot the pubiication wiii be uniform with those of " ENGHSH WATER-
CoLouR," it is intended, in many cases, materiaiiy to increase the actuai size of the reproductions,
for it is feit that the more compieteiy satisfactory resuits obtained thereby wiii fuiiy justify the
necessariiy targe additionai expenditure.
Subscribers to the compiete work wiii be presented with a speciatiy designed Portfbiio to hoid the
Eight Parts. This Portfoiio wiii be issued with the Second Part, but oniy those who have prepaid
their subscriptions wiii be entitied to receive it.
Among the artists whose work wi!i appear in the pubiication, arrangements have aiready been

Each part wiii contain a speciaiiy written article by an expert deaiing with one of the graphic
mediums represented in the pubiication. The subjects considered wiil inciude Lithography, Etching
and Drypoint, Pastei, Pen and Pencii work, Monotyping, Water-Coiour, Wood-Engraving, and
Oii-Painting.
