in this position, for which the self-contained nature of the subject made it
specially suitable.

There can be little doubt that this fresco belonged to the same epoch of Mature
re-decoration in this and the adjoining chambers as the spiral dado of the WorjJ
bath-room and its connected system. It would therefore have been executed
about the close of the earlier L. M. I phase and belongs to a date approach-
ing 1500 B.C. It is therefore of decidedly later date than the ' Sacred Grove
and Dance'.
