The row of cottages
having three to Ave bed-
rooms, built facing the
Neston road, form the
most varied group of all;
they are from the designs
of Messrs. Douglas &
Fordham, of Chester.
Elaboration of design in
this interesting group
certainly goes somewhat
beyond the character of
farm-labourers' cottages,
and may seem therefore
to make them too pre-
tentious for their purpose.
On the other hand, Mr.
Lever admits the pleasure
