It is to be hoped that there wiH be a good
muster of craftsmen and
students at the important
series of lectures inaugu-
rated this month by the
Carpenters Company.
These lectures, for which
free tickets can be ob-
tained by any one from
Mr. J. H. Freeman, the
Cterk, wiil deal with preii-
minary design in the con-
stiuctive arts, and wiH be
given at the Hall of the
Company in London Wali
every Wednesday evening
at y.30 from now untii
Aprii 7. Though it is in-
tended that they shaii be as
exhaustive as possibie, the
aim of the iectures, which
will be deiivered by such weil-known authorities
as Messrs. Weir Schuitz, Guy Dawber, Romney
Green, Troup, C. F. Voysey, Baiilie Scott, Charles
Spooner, Laurence Turner, and Starkie Gardner, is
to encourage those who attend to study the sub-
jects for themseives, and for this purpose to make
use of the vast materiai avaiiabie in London. At
the ciose of the course there wiii be six competi-
