H ^ ELFAST.—The annuai exhibition of work
by students of the Beifast School of
3} H Ait presented an attractive appcarance
^ in the iarge Centrai Hall of the Tech-
nical Institute, where it was recentiy heid. Great
as had been the progress shown in previous exhibi-
tions, there was a decided improvement this year,
although some of the work is stili in an experi-
mental stage. Considerabie pubiic interest is being
shown in these annual dispiays, which no doubt
have an induence in directing attention to art
education and in attracting possible students and
future artists. The school has now settied down
in its new premises, and a few words as to its
history and work may not be out of piace. Previous
