distinguished composition.
All the deeper, therefore, is the impression
created by his three known paintings of the
Madonna—in the Louvre, in the collection of
Madame Andre in Paris, and in Mr. Berenson's
by botticelli
possession in Florence, with which our picture as
a particularly characteristic and pleasing work
may be linked.
Just as in regard to the Pisanello portrait,
there can hardly be a moment's doubt as to the
authenticity of this painting, so typical of Baldo-
august I925
